The Item Sales Report shows exactly how each menu item (and modifier) is performing. Use it to spot your best-sellers, find items that need promotion or removal, and make data-driven menu decisions.

Accessing the Item Sales Report

Step 1: Go to Reports & Analytics in the sidebar.

Step 2: Select Item Sales (or Item Sales Report).

The report loads with data for the currently selected period (same date picker as other reports).

Reading the Report

Columns typically include:

  • Item name (with category/group)

  • Quantity sold

  • Total revenue

  • Average price per unit

  • % of total sales (revenue or quantity)

  • Trend indicator (up/down vs previous period, if available)

Sorting and Filtering

  • Click column headers to sort by quantity, revenue, etc.

  • Filter by category, item status (active/inactive), or search by name.

  • Some views group by category for easier scanning of sections.

Common Use Cases

  • Find your top 10 items by revenue or quantity.

  • Identify slow movers that are taking up menu space or inventory.

  • Compare performance before/after a price change or promotion.

  • See which modifiers (extras, sizes) are actually being used.

Export

Click Export to download the current view as CSV/Excel. This is useful for:

  • Importing into inventory or accounting systems.

  • Creating custom charts.

  • Sharing with your chef or management team.

Best Practices

  • Review this report weekly or monthly alongside the overall Sales Report.

  • Combine with stock data (if integrated) to reduce waste on low-performing items.

  • Use the data when planning seasonal menus or limited-time offers.
