The Live Orders screen shows all incoming orders in real-time, organized by status. Monitor new orders, kitchen progress, and completed orders from one view.

The Live Orders screen shows all incoming orders in real-time, organized by status. Monitor new orders, kitchen progress, and completed orders from one view.

Live Orders Overview

Orders are organized into status columns:

Status

Description

New

Just received, needs attention

Kitchen

Being prepared

Served/Ready

Ready for pickup/delivery

Done

Completed orders

Viewing New Orders

New orders appear with:

  • Order number and kitchen number

  • Order type (Dine-In, Pickup, Delivery)

  • Customer name if available

  • Order time

  • Item count

Step 1: Tap a new order to view details

Step 2: Review items and special instructions

Step 3: Accept or acknowledge the order

Order Progress

In Kitchen

Orders move to Kitchen status when:

  • Kitchen starts preparation

  • Order is acknowledged

  • Items are being made

Ready for Service

Orders show as Ready when:

  • Kitchen marks items complete

  • Food is plated and waiting

  • Ready for customer pickup or server delivery

Completed

Orders move to Done when:

  • Customer has received their food

  • Payment is complete

  • Order is closed

Order Details View

Tap any order to see:

  • Full item list with quantities

  • Item modifications and add-ons

  • Special instructions

  • Customer contact info (for delivery/pickup)

  • Order timeline

  • Payment status

Managing Order Status

To update an order's status:

Step 1: Tap the order to open details

Step 2: Use status buttons to move order forward:

  • Accept - Acknowledge new order

  • Start - Move to kitchen

  • Ready - Mark as complete

  • Complete - Close the order

Step 3: Status updates sync to customer (for online orders)

Filtering Orders

Filter the view to focus on specific orders:

  • By type: Dine-In, Pickup, Delivery

  • By status: New, Kitchen, Ready, Done

  • By time: Today, specific date range

  • By staff: Orders assigned to specific server

Real-Time Updates

Live Orders updates automatically:

  • New orders appear instantly

  • Status changes reflect immediately

  • No manual refresh needed

  • Sound alerts for new orders (if enabled)

Orders come from multiple sources:

Created directly on this device

Website

Online orders from your site

Google

Google Food Ordering

Third-Party

MergePort, Kitchen Hub, etc.

All orders appear in the same Live Orders view regardless of source.

Tips for Live Order Management

During Busy Periods:

  • Focus on New orders first

  • Keep kitchen column moving

  • Don't let Ready orders pile up

Communication:

  • Check special instructions carefully

  • Note allergen requests

  • Confirm large orders

End of Day:

  • Review any stuck orders

  • Complete or cancel as appropriate

  • Check for missed notifications
